Alot of poor people in Vietnam sell lotto tickets, I usually give double. Why? Because I can and because it feels good “inside”. We see a lot of people online “accumulating things” with their wealth. Fancy cars, fancy homes, expensive clothes and jewelry. I’m okay without those things as long as I have my basic needs met food, shelter, water…”You’ll never see a moving truck behind a funeral procession…”
The moral of the story and something my friends hear me say all the time “You cannot take it with you…” So why not do some good with it? Money cannot buy happiness or love. Money only helps fix problems, some of them not all of them. Money gives you options. A few extra bucks goes a very long way on the other side of the world. I am in Ho Chi Ming writing this post. Some people here are happy to work for $120 a month!
I invite you here, you will love the people. They are all kind and humble. Shoot over here and come spread some cash around, as it is badly needed here by so many.
Several years back I had a yacht charter business and this young kid came up to talk to me on the bridge as I was navigating out of the harbor. He said, “it must be nice to be rich”… I quickly cut in and told him “I am not rich, I have just work harder than most, so I have been rewarded more than most…” I also told him “Money feels the best when it is actually leaving… and going to someone who needs it more than you… this is the best part about having money…”
Call your mother, tell her you love her…
