Dream Big Kid

Just a good guy doing good

$100 for Anthony at Sunoco said “Thank you, it’s a blessing!”…

I came halfway back around the world to be with my family in Ohio. This is our first Christmas without our mother 🙁

I had made a recent move to Vietnam in the hopes of starting one or two businesses there. As my mother and many successful people have told me you need to have more than one source of Revenue. I own a consulting company in Chicago that is doing well by the grace of God. We are five stars everywhere. Why am I telling you this?

I am telling you this because early this morning on December 24th I am making the five and a half hour drive to Ohio. I stopped at a Sunoco gas station in Portage Indiana. While attempting to a pay for my coffee and donut, the cashier Anthony happened to take notice of a rather large stack of hundred dollar bills I had pulled out of my pocket to pay with. It’s cash that’s meant for Vietnam. Cash that will hopefully help me reach some of the goals I set for myself there.

Anthony said “oh, it looks like someone’s going to have a good Christmas”. I instantly replied with, “I have worked my ass off since age 10”. I have worked so many 16 hour shifts. I’m certain I have done more work than most people do in two lifetimes. I mentioned my business because my business “is my blessing”.

My business is something I built over time, with blood, sweat and tears. The blessing is the thousands of customers who trust me.

So Anthony, I too have been blessed 🙂 and the world goes round and round…

Do some good with it Anthony!

Call your mother tell her you love her.

  1. Hi Angelo,

I’m Anthony, the clerk you met in this video. I just wanted to stop by and thank you again for your kindness and generosity. I often find myself both helping others and being helped myself; I have always been a believer in karma and the nature of life repaying us for our own actions. Your gift to me went on to help me bring Christmas cheer to a number of other people. All the good around me this year has filled my heart with endless warmth and cheer, and a renewed faith in the inherent goodness of the human spirit.

And I totally called both of my parents. 😉

    Merry Christmas!

Hi there Anthony! How about a new record for reply time, like 6 months! Sorry about that, I could have sworn I replied. I am glad it went well for you. I took a trip to Vietnam (Siagon) just before I met you. I came home to see my family in Ohio for Christmas. I ended up going back to Saigon and I have been here ever since. I continue to do good deeds and random acts of kindness. I too believe in Karma, what goes around comes around, we just don’t know when…I hope you continue doing good deeds of your own, no matter how small. Even a simple compliment goes a long way these days. I hope this found you safe and well. Till I am back on that side of the world, take care of America for me.

      Keep paying it forward, Angelo.
